Enrollment

UIndy has more than 5,000 students at its main campus in Indianapolis, including approximately 1,200 graduate students. UIndy also has a branch campus in Athens, Greece.

The average class size is 18 and the student-to-faculty ratio is 13 to 1.

Diversity

More than 20 U.S. states and more than 50 nations are represented on campus, where 6.5 percent of the students are international.

9.3 percent of undergraduates are African-American, and minorities (all non-Caucasians) represent 19.6 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Students come from a spectrum of faith traditions, from Christianity to Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism.

Programs

The University offers 82 bachelor's degrees, 22 master's degrees, and several doctoral programs.

Faculty

There are more than 400 full- and part-time faculty members.

National Rankings

The University is ranked 29th among institutions of its class by U.S.News & World Report.

Three schools have nationally ranked graduate programs: the Krannert School of Physical Therapy, the School of Occupational Therapy, and the School of Nursing.

International Affiliations

The Athens campus offers 30 undergraduate and 8 graduate programs. The University has extension sites at Galen University in Belize and Ningbo Institute of Technology in China, and helped to launch Mar Elias Campus in Israel. UIndy also maintains relationships with other universities in Asia and Europe that facilitate the exchange of students and faculty.

Athletics

The University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II school offering 21 team sports. UIndy has had 42 Academic All-Americans — 30 of them named since 2000 — and has twice won the Great Lakes Valley Conference All Sports Trophy.

Tuition

2009-10 tuition is $20,970 per year; room and board is $7,610 with 14 meals per week. More than 80 percent of students receive some type of financial assistance. The average need-based aid package is $15,239.

Residence Life

84 percent of freshmen and 51 percent of full-time undergraduates live on campus, which has six residence halls and 58 apartment units.
